This week, we're excited to shine the spotlight on Tracy Vedder, one of our dedicated Hermann High School Agriculture teachers and FFA advisors! 🌾🌻
With 28 years of teaching experience, including 26 years at Hermann High School, Tracy has spent much of her career inspiring students, creating opportunities, and helping shape the future of agricultural education right here in her hometown!
One of Tracy's favorite parts about working at GCR-1 is the special connection she has to the community. Over the years, she has had the privilege of teaching children of her former classmates and even children of students she taught early in her career. Talk about coming full circle! 💙
Tracy's passion for agricultural education began after competing in a national FFA contest herself. That experience inspired her to provide students with the same opportunities for growth, achievement, and unforgettable experiences that she was given. The family atmosphere of agricultural education and FFA is what has kept her passionate about the profession all these years. One of her favorite memories is taking a floriculture team to compete at the national level! 🌸🏆

❤️ A Special Family Tradition: Friday nights are family nights! Tracy and her husband enjoy taking whichever of their kids can make it to Hilltop for supper. Whether it's the whole crew or just one of their children, it's a tradition she treasures.

💭 Advice to Her Younger Self: "Listen to the advice of the older generation."
Tracy's dedication to helping students discover their potential, develop lifelong skills, and experience everything FFA has to offer has made a lasting impact on generations of Bearcats.

Our Hermann Elementary School students had a SPOOK-tacular time at today's Trunk or Treat! From creative costumes and festive decorations to plenty of sweet treats, the day was filled with Halloween fun, laughter, and excitement! 🎃🍭
🌈💛 Our Bearcat staff even got in on the fun by dressing up as characters from Inside Out 2! From Joy and Disgust to all the other emotions, our staff brought plenty of personality, laughter, and excitement to today's celebration! What a fun way to make the day even more memorable for our little Bearcats! 🧠💜
A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible! We are so grateful for the time, effort, and creativity that went into making this such a fun and memorable experience for our students! 🐾🖤💙

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Lucas Brinkmann, our Elementary Music Teacher! 🎶🎺
Lucas has been part of the GCR-1 family for 3 years and loves having the opportunity to work with both elementary music students and high school band students. His favorite part of teaching is watching his students grow, not only in their musical abilities but personally as well!
One of his favorite memories from this year has been seeing the success of our marching band and how much the students have enjoyed being part of it! 🎵
Here are a few fun facts about Lucas!
🎺 His favorite musical instrument is the trumpet!
🏕️ He's an Eagle Scout!
🥤 His go-to drink is root beer.
🍕 He could never give up pizza!
📺 He could watch Supernatural over and over.
🐶 He's a dog person!
🏖️ If he could travel anywhere tomorrow, he'd be headed to a beach in Florida!
🥶 He always keeps a blanket at school because it's cold!
🏠 If he weren't teaching, he thinks he'd be working in interior design!
This school year, Lucas is looking forward to introducing more challenging musical concepts to his students and continuing to help them grow!
His advice to his younger self? "Be prepared for anything and everything!"

A big thank you to our senior members of band, cheer, cross country, and football as well as their parents.
HES Reading with Relatives was a huge success today!! Thanks to all of our relatives that took time out of their day to read with our 2nd and 3rd graders. Thanks also to our HHS Future Teachers of America and National Honor Society students who joined us!
What a wonderful day for lunch outside! HES enjoyed the beautiful weather and a picnic lunch today! ☀️
HES enjoyed a fantastic performance by the Hermann High School Marching Band this morning! Thank you Mr. Bunkley, Mr.Brinkmann, and the HHS Bearcat Brigade for this opportunity and congratulations on your very successful marching season!
