📣🐾 A BIG Bearcat Shoutout! 🐾📣
We want to give a HUGE thank you to Jason Koch, husband of Hermann Elementary Principal Mandy Koch, for generously building and donating some wonderful new picnic tables for our elementary students! 🔨🪵
Jason originally made these tables for our Reading with Relatives event, and while we didn't get the chance to capture photos of our students and families enjoying them that day, they have quickly become a fantastic addition to Hermann Elementary! 📚☀️
From enjoying lunch outside on beautiful days to outdoor reading time and other fun learning activities, our students and staff have already put these tables to great use!
Thank you, Mandy and Jason, for your time, hard work, and generosity! We are so grateful for the people who go above and beyond to make our school an even better place for our little Bearcats!💙

Today, our schools came together to give CJ Mires and Ryker Ash a special Bearcat send-off as they headed to Columbia to compete in the State Cross Country Meet at Gans Creek! 🏆
Students and staff lined the sidewalks to cheer them on, wish them luck, and show just how proud we are of these two athletes as they started their journey to STATE! 💙🖤
CJ and Ryker, your hard work and dedication have brought you this far, and your entire Bearcat family is cheering you on every step of the way!

Our Hermann Elementary Pre-K students took their learning outdoors for a fun-filled fall nature hunt! 🌳🍃
Our little explorers searched for signs of fall, collected colorful leaves for their nature boards, and learned all about how and why leaves change colors with the seasons! 🍁
From discovering fall treasures to observing the beautiful changes happening around us, it was a wonderful day of hands-on learning, curiosity, and adventure! 🧡

Gasconade County R-1, along with fellow Four Rivers Conference school districts, is raising awareness about the significant potential reductions in state funding for Missouri public schools if funding is not restored.
These proposed funding reductions could have serious impacts on local school districts, students, educators, and the communities they serve. GCR-1 stands with fellow districts in sharing this important information and advocating for the resources Missouri public schools need to continue providing quality education for all students.

October was a busy and exciting month for our Hermann High School FCCLA Chapter! From welcoming new members to developing leadership skills and giving back to our community, our students have been making a difference! ❤️
🌟 16 New Members! Our FCCLA family continues to grow as we welcomed 16 new members into the chapter!
🤝 Region 5 Fall Conference: Eight members attended the conference in Bourbon, Missouri, where they participated in leadership activities, connected with fellow FCCLA members, and gained valuable experiences. A special shoutout to Marissa Parr for taking on a regional leadership role!
🇺🇸 Homecoming Fun: FCCLA members helped make the Party in the USA Homecoming Semi-Formal a success by assisting with ticket sales and decorations!
🎗️ Fizzin' for a Cure: Our chapter raised $225 for breast cancer research through its annual soda bar fundraiser! Thank you to everyone who supported this meaningful cause!
🏆 Member of the Month: Congratulations to freshman Laney Hoven for being recognized as October's FCCLA Member of the Month! Your enthusiasm and willingness to get involved are appreciated!

The Class 2 Boys race will take place at 9:45 AM on Friday, November 6th.
The race will be held at the Gans Creek Recreation Area (3350 E. Gans Road, Columbia, MO 65201)
Admission - Digital Tickets will be required. They are available for purchase on the MSHSAA website. Tickets will cost $12.

This week, we're excited to shine the spotlight on Tracy Vedder, one of our dedicated Hermann High School Agriculture teachers and FFA advisors! 🌾🌻
With 28 years of teaching experience, including 26 years at Hermann High School, Tracy has spent much of her career inspiring students, creating opportunities, and helping shape the future of agricultural education right here in her hometown!
One of Tracy's favorite parts about working at GCR-1 is the special connection she has to the community. Over the years, she has had the privilege of teaching children of her former classmates and even children of students she taught early in her career. Talk about coming full circle! 💙
Tracy's passion for agricultural education began after competing in a national FFA contest herself. That experience inspired her to provide students with the same opportunities for growth, achievement, and unforgettable experiences that she was given. The family atmosphere of agricultural education and FFA is what has kept her passionate about the profession all these years. One of her favorite memories is taking a floriculture team to compete at the national level! 🌸🏆
